welcoming of fresh student in DDU was . .

 In October 28-29 G.c (20-21/Tikimte 2005) new students have been placed in Dire Dawa University. Their numbers was 3002. It was done in the hard work of Dire Dawa University student‘s union and it was completed successfully.
      Some works that help the welcoming to be successful were:
1.       Two major communities were organized to do the activities.
1.1   Under the DDU students’ union, the leaders of eleven clubs were organized as one commite.
1.2    DDU students’ union section leaders were organized as one commite.
                  
2.       Meeting was carried out with the community of dire dawa.
2.1   The communities have shown a very nice welcoming approach to the new students (fresh student).
                    
3.      Meeting was carried out with security members.
3.1    In addition to their own responsibilty in the city, they have shown a very strong security service to the new student (fresh student).
        
4.      Meeting was carried out with the bajaj drivers.
4.1   In order not to over charge the new students with fares, there were discussion with the bajaj drivers.

5.       DDU entrance gates were divided for the new students and the senior students.
5.1   One gate (Toni gate) was fully open for the entrance of the new students.

6.       Dira Dawa City Marsh bands have shown their work and performed greatly for the welcoming of new students in Dire Dawa University.

                      
        Dire Dawa University as well as the whole Ethiopian higher education students’ union president; student Aklilu Tadesse acknowledge that for the successfull welcoming activities that have taken place, it was adorable and a great appreciation to administration, students’ union section administration, voluntary students and for all Dire Dawa University community, What they have shown great approaching and a nice attitude toward new students. He said that on behalf of himself and students’ union that it is a great appreciation and a thankful work.

International conference @ DDU on . . .



International conference of Ethiopian studies
The 18th international conference of Ethiopian studies closed successfully on November 2, 2012 in Dire Dawa University. 
The 18th international conference that took place in Dire Dawa University premium was closed successfully on November 2, 2012 with the final meeting of the international committee of the conference.
        
                   
     Dr. Eloi Ficquet and Dr. Ahmed Hassen, chairman and co-chairman of the ICES 18, addressed the closing ceremony starting that the conference was very successful and inspiring, allowing for a fruitful and innovating exchange of ideas and projects. With this the chairman, Dr.Eloi Ficquet, in the name of the organizing committee thanked and praised Dr.Wagayehu, the president of Dire Dawa University and his staff who worked hard in successful accomlishment of the conference.
